Why it can be worth travelling from Canberra to Yass Valley Dental

If you live in Canberra, travelling outside the ACT for dental care may sound like a long way to go. In practice, our Murrumbateman clinic is closer than many people expect, particularly from Gungahlin, Hall, Nicholls, Ngunnawal, Casey, Amaroo, Crace, Belconnen, Forde, Bonner, Moncrieff and Taylor.

For patients in North Canberra, the drive can be around 25–30 minutes, depending on where you start and traffic.

So why make the trip?

For many patients, it comes down to having access to a broad range of treatment in one place, fair and transparent pricing, experienced clinicians, modern technology, easy parking and a practice that has been part of the region for more than 120 years.

More of your dental care in one place

We provide everything from routine check-ups and preventive care through to restorative, cosmetic, implant and orthodontic treatment.

That includes dental implants, root canal treatment, extractions and wisdom teeth removal, porcelain veneers, crowns, clear aligners and fixed braces.

For patients with more complex needs, we also provide All-on-4, All-on-6 and full mouth reconstruction, alongside individual dental implants and other restorative options.

Having this range of treatment within the same practice matters when care involves several stages. Instead of moving between different providers for different parts of treatment, much of the assessment, planning and treatment can be coordinated by the same team.

Experienced care for more complex treatment

More advanced treatment is one of the reasons it can be worth travelling a little further for dental care.

Our implant and surgical treatment is provided by Dr Daniel Yang, whose clinical focus includes implantology, orthodontics and oral surgery. His postgraduate training includes a Master of Implantology and Third Molar Extraction as well as postgraduate training in clinical orthodontics.

This allows us to provide treatment such as dental implants, All-on-4 and All-on-6, wisdom tooth removal and orthodontics within the practice rather than routinely referring patients elsewhere.

For patients considering changes to their smile, we also provide porcelain veneers, clear aligners such as Invisalign and fixed braces, alongside restorative treatment when needed.

The aim is not simply to offer more procedures. It is to be able to look at the whole situation and recommend the treatment that makes sense for your teeth, bite, long-term dental health and goals.

Fair, transparent pricing

Travelling from Canberra should make sense financially too.

We aim to keep our fees fair and transparent, and for many treatments our pricing is comparable to or lower than metropolitan Canberra practices.

Before treatment begins, we explain the available options, what is included and what you can expect to pay. This becomes particularly important with larger treatment plans such as implants, orthodontics or full mouth reconstruction, where comparing a single headline price rarely tells the whole story.

Payment options including TLC, Zip and Afterpay are also available for eligible treatments.

Modern technology available at both practices

Both our Yass and Murrumbateman practices are equipped with CBCT 3D imaging and digital intraoral scanning, supported by in-house milling and 3D printing.

That means scans used for procedures such as implant placement, wisdom tooth removal and orthodontic planning can be completed within the practice.

We also produce a range of ceramic restorations, models, surgical guides and orthodontic appliances in-house.

For patients travelling from Canberra, the practical benefit is simple: more of the planning and treatment can happen in one place, without unnecessary appointments elsewhere.

An experienced team under one roof

Our dentists work alongside hygienists and oral health therapists, with experience across general dentistry, preventive care, restorative dentistry, implants, oral surgery, orthodontics and children’s dentistry.

This is useful not only for complex cases but also for families.

You can bring children in for routine care, see the same practice for your own check-ups, and still have access to more advanced treatment if it becomes necessary.

It allows us to build a longer-term picture of your dental health rather than seeing each appointment as an isolated problem.

An easier trip than you might expect

For patients in North Canberra, reaching our Murrumbateman practice at 40 Middle Street is relatively straightforward via the Barton Highway.

The clinic is particularly convenient from suburbs such as Nicholls, Ngunnawal, Casey, Amaroo, Forde, Bonner, Moncrieff and Taylor, as well as from the wider Belconnen district.

Once you arrive, there is free on-site parking, with no parking fees and no need to search for a space in a busy city centre.

The practice is also open Monday to Saturday, giving patients more flexibility when fitting appointments around work, school and other commitments.

Our second practice is located at 77 Lead Street, Yass and is equipped to the same standard.

Considering dental treatment outside Canberra?

If you live in Canberra ACT, particularly in Gungahlin or the northern suburbs, our Murrumbateman clinic may be much closer than you think.

Whether you are looking for routine dental care or considering dental implants, All-on-4, All-on-6, full mouth reconstruction, porcelain veneers, clear aligners or fixed braces, you can speak with our team about your options, expected costs and what treatment would involve before deciding what is right for you.
